The balance sheet health of any company plays a key role in its ability to meet its obligations and maintain the faith of its investment base. We like companies with positive Cash Flows. We don’t chase 13F filings. We initiate our stock purchase with an Investment Thesis in mind.
We missed our June 2017 post due to death of my beloved brother. May he rest in peace! I miss him dearly.
We are approaching the third quarter of the year with second quarter earning season behind us. This year has been rewarding for most investors. By many measures, including price-to-earnings ratios, stocks appear to be fully valued. Investors my be looking for areas of the market where they may find some values.
With continued delays by the Trump administration and Congress on its healthcare reform progress, tax reform and other perceived pro-growth policies are getting pushed further out. To date, this has not had a significantly negative impact on stocks; possibly because estimates have not yet been raised for either corporate earnings or overall gross domestic product (GDP) growth.
Stocks have had a remarkable—and recently drama-free—run over the past eight-plus years. We are likely in a more mature phase, which could be marked by bouts of volatility and/or pullbacks—possible driven by Fed policy. But liquidity remains ample, financial conditions loose and earnings growth healthy; which have underpinned this bull for much of its history. Those are the key things on which to keep an eye as we head into the third quarter of the year.
We will start this post by talking about investing. We have a section called Security Trade Ideas, which provides you with a list of low cost Index funds. There is another section called Sectors, which provides analysis of each sector and gives an ETF and/or a Stock Trade Ideas within each sector. Following, there is a list of our security trade ideas from January of 2017 post and a section on the Economy, Earnings and Politic. We take another look at the emerging market. Finally, we have our conclusion section, which provides a summary of our discussions in this post.
